Degrees Rising
Degrees Rising was formed by Tim Robson (Vocals/Guitar) and Chris Meikle (Keyboards/Vocals) in March 2007. After collaborating song ideas, writing and building up a set list, Tim and Chris started to play acoustic shows around London.
They then went to record four songs with Mike Greenway (Martha Tilston, The Mayfly Trio) in April 2008. We both met drummer Matt Garland at one of our acoustic shows at the Cavendish Arms, Stockwell in September 2008 and then made the decision that it was the right time to change the sound and direction of our music from acoustic to energetic rock/pop.Kane King joined in March 2009 on bass guitar and as a full band we went on to do our first recording together in June, recording four songs with Rob Harrison (Razorlight, The Foals, The Boxer Rebellion) at Fortress Studios in London, subsequently mixed by Dave Chang at Philia Studios in Henley. Over the past year we have begun performing our first gigs together as a complete 4-piece line-up at various different venues within the London circuit, which have been really well received.
Now with Dino Ferreira on board as our new drummer with Matt unfortunately having to leave us, we are in a strong position to really look forward to continuing with showcasing our material and our own uplifting alternative rock/pop sound to new audiences.
