The origins of Rhyn began in 2003 when Chris, Guy and Dan first formed a band together and started playing live in High Wycombe and other local towns with a series of different drummers. They then made their first steps in recording their material and in 2005 they released a rough demo album before taking a break to attend university in Nottingham and Leicester.
During this time the band occasionally reunited for one-off gigs and the members were involved in various different musical projects, which helped them to improve their skills in recording and production. Rhyn in their current incarnation then began in 2009 when the three of them returned to Bucks and started playing together again. They recorded a new full-length self-produced album called Firewood which was released in 2010 and saw Guy taking on drum duties as well as guitar.
They then took another short break as Guy spent a year abroad, before regrouping again in summer 2011. After briefly starting to perform again with a couple of short-lived temporary drummers, the Rhyn lineup was finally completed in 2012 with the arrival of new permanent drummer Rhys.
The four of them are now concentrating on playing larger venues, and are due to record their first music video very soon in order to gain more exposure and to reach a wider audience.
