Formed in 2010 from the ashes of various punk/rock bands, Slow Science has managed to mash their various influences into a unique blend of technical prowess underneath sing-a-long rock anthems and plenty of wailing guitar solos.
Paul and Jon had been in the punk rock band, Serf Combat which ended around the same time Stacey’s instrumental, math rock band, Instruments had broken up and Al had left the King Blues. Paul and Stacey knew each other from their time in the hardcore band, Black Tax when they met Jon in his punk band, Heroic Doses. Paul was the sound engineer for the King Blues and also knew Al from his other bands, The Filaments, Suicide Bid and Babylon Whackers. Paul also is the man behind the electronic wizardry of Project Serendipity.
A rushed demo, ‘You’re Welcome.’, was written and recorded before Jon went travelling for most of 2011 with John Hannon (Capdown, Hundred Reasons...). A brief UK tour saw the demo sell out and has since been re-released on cassette tape by Youth Camp Records. Currently the band are working on new material for a release on Bombed Out Records (Dauntless Elite, Wooderson...) which is due out in early 2013.
