Situated just a three minute walk from The Scala/Kings Cross in one direction, and Upper Street not far the other way, Surya is a fantastic new venue on the London live scene. Originally dubbed as the "world's first completely ecologically friendly club" when it opened several years ago, it retains some unusual features (chandelier made of green biros and the bar made from recycled materials), yet is now also equipped to host bands and give them a great night.
The upstairs bar holds 80 people and is great to catch up with your friends, but it is downstairs in the 160 capacity live room that the fun starts. The intimate atmosphere makes for a great live event, and a (VERY) late license means that the crowd can stay on and dance to the early hours.
